Content Analysis – XXL

1)      There is one photograph on XXL magazine content page.

2)      XXL has a simple structure; bold underlined titles with a column of page numbers and details of what the page is about.

3)      The relationship between the photo and text is positive and reflects each other. The man in the photo is wearing the same colour as some of the text for example orange, black, white and red. The layout of the content page is simple and calm which links with the photographs of the man because he is calm also. Also some of the text like the heading is dominated and over the information of the pages which also joins in with the picture as he is in an overpowering pose, with an almost belittling facial expression. The size of the photo compared to the text is 50/50, which shows the photo and text are equal on the page.

4)      The artist is divided clearly between the texts from side to side.

5)      XXL magazine has 20 pages on it’s content page
